SULTANA SLICE
The easiest sultana cake ever, courtesy of the Free Church Cookbook. You only need one pan to mix everything in so it saves loads of hassle and dishes!
Ingredients
450 g sultanas
225 g margarine or butter
3 eggs
350 g caster sugar
2 tsp almond essence
350 g plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
Greased and lined square or rectangular tin, medium sized
- Cover the sultanas with water, bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Drain.
- Add the other ingredients, fold in the flour and baking powder last.
- Put mixture in tin
- Bake in oven gas 3 / 170ยบ for 1 hour
